1e4017e3fa [CI] support nightly ci for per pr by labels (#6483)
### What this PR does / why we need it?

This PR refactors the nightly CI workflows (A2 and A3) to support
running tests against a specific PR's code, in addition to the existing
scheduled/dispatch runs using pre-built images.

#### Motivation:
Previously, nightly tests could only be triggered by schedule or
workflow_dispatch, always using the pre-built nightly image. This change
allows developers to trigger nightly tests against their own PR's source
code, enabling early validation without waiting for a nightly build.

#### Changes
Trigger logic (parse-trigger job)

A new parse-trigger job is introduced in both
schedule_nightly_test_a2.yaml and schedule_nightly_test_a3.yaml to
centralize trigger evaluation:

`schedule / workflow_dispatch`: runs all tests with the pre-built image
(existing behavior preserved)
`pull_request (labeled + synchronize)`: runs only when:The PR has the
nightly-test label, and /nightly [test-names] comment exists (latest one
wins)

1. /nightly or /nightly all — runs all tests
2. /nightly test1 test2 — runs only named tests (comma-wrapped for exact
matching)

#### How to trigger
1. Add the nightly-test label to your PR
2. Comment /nightly (all tests) or /nightly test1 test2 (specific tests)
4. Re-triggering: add another /nightly comment and push a new commit
(synchronize event)

1a7f845696 [Feat][Worker] NPUWorker Profiler profile_prefix full adaptation (RFC #6954) (#6968)
## What this PR does / why we need it?

Implements [RFC
#6954](https://github.com/vllm-project/vllm-ascend/issues/6954):
NPUWorker Profiler profile_prefix full adaptation for API parity with
upstream vLLM.

### Changes
- **Lazy profiler init**: Defer profiler creation until first
`profile(is_start=True)` call
- **profile_prefix param**: Add `profile_prefix` to `profile()`; compute
`trace_name` from prefix + `get_worker_rank_suffix()`
- **Refactor `_init_profiler` → `_create_profiler(trace_name)`**: Pass
`worker_name` to `tensorboard_trace_handler` for unique trace files per
worker
- Unique trace files per worker; no collision in multi-worker setups

### Testing
- Unit tests updated/added in `tests/ut/worker/test_worker_v1.py`
- `pytest tests/ut/worker/test_worker_v1.py::TestNPUWorker` passed

## Does this PR introduce _any_ user-facing change?
Yes. Trace file naming may differ (more descriptive with worker rank
suffix). `profile(is_start=True, profile_prefix="warmup")` now
supported.

## How was this patch tested?
- Unit tests:`pytest tests/ut/worker/test_worker_v1.py::TestNPUWorker`
- Manual: vLLM serve with profiler config, start/stop profile, verified
trace files

13777bf3f0 [Spec Decode]clean up spec decode interface (#6947)
This pull request refactors the speculative decoding proposer interface
to align with upstream vLLM, removing the local `Proposer` interface and
renaming methods to `propose`.

This is the first step. In the future we should remove the class
register and just add few Ascend specified method once the arch in vLLM
is ready.

b771ca9a47 [CPU binding] Implement global CPU slicing and improve IRQ binding for Ascend NPUs (#6945)
### What this PR does / why we need it?

This PR introduces global CPU slicing for Ascend NPUs to ensure
non-overlapping CPU partitions, addresses IRQ binding logical errors on
A3, and enhances the logic for determining total NPUs in CPU allocation.
These changes are necessary to optimize CPU resource management and
improve system stability.

- **Global CPU Slicing**: Introduced a global CPU slicing mechanism for
Ascend NPUs to ensure non-overlapping CPU partitions across multiple
processes or data parallel groups, preventing resource contention.
- **Improved IRQ Binding for A3 Devices**: Refined the IRQ binding logic
specifically for Ascend A3 devices, correctly mapping logical NPU IDs to
physical card and chip IDs for accurate npu-smi queries and preventing
multi-process overwrite of IRQ settings.
- **Enhanced NPU Count Determination**: Improved the logic for
determining the total number of logical NPUs, prioritizing NPU mapping
information to ensure more accurate CPU allocation.
- **Minimum CPU Requirement**: Established a minimum requirement of 5
CPUs per NPU for binding, reserving specific cores for IRQ, main, ACL,
and release operations to ensure stable operation.

### Does this PR introduce _any_ user-facing change?

2064afe380 [300I][Bugfix] fix unquant model weight nd2nz error (#6851)
### What this PR does / why we need it?
- This PR fixes an issue with weight format conversion for unquantized
models running on Ascend 310P devices.

- The changes refactor the logic for converting weights to the
FRACTAL_NZ format. Previously, this was handled in a 310P-specific
linear layer implementation (`AscendUnquantizedLinearMethod310`). This
implementation has been removed, and the logic is now centralized in the
`maybe_trans_nz` utility function. This function now checks if the
device is a 310P and applies the NZ format cast accordingly for
`float16`/`bfloat16` weights.

- This refactoring simplifies the code by removing platform-specific
duplication and ensures correct weight handling for unquantized models
on 310P.

5899438a86 [Feat][310p] 310P support w8a8s quantization and saving w8a8sc state (#6878)
### What this PR does / why we need it?
This pull request introduces significant enhancements for 310P device
support, primarily by enabling W8A8S quantization and facilitating the
saving of models with W8A8SC state outputs. It provides an example
script for saving sharded and compressed model states, implements the
core W8A8S quantization method, and integrates metadata generation
within the 310P worker to accurately describe the quantization types of
saved parameters. These changes aim to improve efficiency and
compatibility for quantized models on 310P hardware.

c13d90b766 [Refactor][EAGLE] 7/N Merged PCP and disable_padded interface (#6811)
### What this PR does / why we need it?
[Refactor][EAGLE] 7/N Merged PCP and disable_padded interface into
eagle_proposer.py

This pull request significantly refactors the speculative decoding
mechanism by merging Parallel Context Processing (PCP) and Multi-Token
Prediction (MTP) functionalities directly into the eagle_proposer.py.
The changes aim to enhance the efficiency and correctness of distributed
speculative decoding, particularly by enabling the Eagle feature to work
seamlessly with the disable_padded interface. This involves detailed
adjustments to attention metadata, input/output processing, and state
management to ensure proper operation in parallel environments.

1. The PCP and MTP features are migrated to the eagle_proposer.py
2. The Eagle and PCP features are integrated
3. Enable the eagle feature to use the disable_padded interface

981d803cb7 [CI] Fix doc test fail when load model with error information: 'Stale file handle' (#6832)
### What this PR does / why we need it?

This PR fixes a `Stale file handle` error that occurs during doctests in
the CI environment. The error appears when loading models from
ModelScope, likely due to issues with network file systems used in CI.

The fix involves setting the `MODELSCOPE_HUB_FILE_LOCK` environment
variable to `false` in the `run_doctests.sh` script. This disables file
locking in the ModelScope hub, which is a common workaround for this
type of file system error.

### Does this PR introduce _any_ user-facing change?

No, this change only affects the CI test execution environment and has
no impact on users.

### How was this patch tested?

This change is validated by the CI pipeline. A successful run of the
doctests indicates that the fix is effective.

### What this PR does / why we need it?
This pull request resolves an attention accuracy issue by enhancing the
AttentionMaskBuilder310 to correctly handle the maximum model length.
The change ensures that the attention mask generation process is
properly parameterized by the model's configuration, rather than relying
on a fixed internal value. This leads to more accurate attention mask
creation, which is crucial for the correct functioning of the attention
mechanism.

3953dcf784 [Feature][Quant] Auto-detect quantization format from model files (#6645)
## Summary

- Add automatic quantization format detection, eliminating the need to
manually specify `--quantization` when serving quantized models.
- The detection inspects only lightweight JSON files
(`quant_model_description.json` and `config.json`) at engine
initialization time, with no `.safetensors` reads.
- User-explicit `--quantization` flags are always respected;
auto-detection only applies when the flag is omitted.

## Details

**Detection priority:**
1. `quant_model_description.json` exists → `quantization="ascend"`
(ModelSlim)
2. `config.json` contains `"quant_method": "compressed-tensors"` →
`quantization="compressed-tensors"` (LLM-Compressor)
3. Neither → default float behavior

**Technical approach:**
Hooked into `NPUPlatform.check_and_update_config()` to run detection
after `VllmConfig.__post_init__`. Since `quant_config` is already `None`
at that point, we explicitly recreate it via
`VllmConfig._get_quantization_config()` to trigger the full quantization
initialization pipeline.

## Files Changed

| File | Description |
|------|-------------|
| `vllm_ascend/quantization/utils.py` | Added
`detect_quantization_method()` and `maybe_auto_detect_quantization()` |
| `vllm_ascend/platform.py` | Integrated auto-detection in

bc1622338c [CI] Add long and short prompt tests for DeepSeek-V3.2 (#6536)
### What this PR does / why we need it?

This version has no divisibility constraint between tp and mtp+1.
However, cudagraph_capture_sizes must be a common multiple of tp and
mtp+1, with a maximum of tp * (mtp+1). Therefore, we fixed
cudagraph_capture_sizes.

We added a long-sequence test (64k input, 3k output) for the two-node
mixed deployment scenario. Due to the excessive time required for
performance benchmarking, we are only verifying functionality. The
single-node scenario is skipped because VRAM limitations prevent
launching the model with a max-model-len of 68,000.

and we also add aime2025 test for dual-node deepseek 3.2 nightly test.

3da2ba22eb [Platform] Enable ARM-only CPU binding with NUMA-balanced A3 policy and update docs/tests (#6686)
### What this PR does / why we need it?

- Keeps enable_cpu_binding default on, but skips binding on non‑ARM CPUs
inside bind_cpus, with a clear log.
- Uses a table-driven binding policy: A3 uses NUMA‑balanced binding;
other device types use NUMA‑affinity binding.
- Updates docs to reflect the exact behavior and adds/updates unit tests
for the new logic.

### Does this PR introduce _any_ user-facing change?

- Yes. CPU binding is now enabled by default via additional_config, and
documented in the user guide.
- CPU binding behavior differs by device type (A3 vs. others).

### How was this patch tested?

Added/updated unit tests:

test_cpu_binding.py
1. test_binding_mode_table covers A2 vs A3 binding mode mapping.
2. test_build_cpu_pools_fallback_to_numa_balanced covers fallback when
affinity info is missing.
3. TestBindingSwitch.test_is_arm_cpu covers ARM/x86/unknown arch
detection.
4. test_bind_cpus_skip_non_arm covers non‑ARM skip path in bind_cpus.

test_worker_v1.py
1. Updated mocks for enable_cpu_binding default True to align with new
config default.

ac9a7d1301 [Nightly] Increase VLLM_ENGINE_READY_TIMEOUT_S to avoid nightly failure (#6778)

https://github.com/vllm-project/vllm-ascend/actions/runs/22315540111/job/64574590762#step:9:1809,
this may caused by the excessively long model loading time (currently we
are still loading weights from network storage), it is necessary to
adjust the timeout seconds 600s -> 1800s

### What this PR does / why we need it?
The ds3.2 model adaptation supports the PCP feature.

The solution is as follows: When saving the KV cache, first perform an

When the attention or indexer performs calculations, they all gather the
KV cache and then perform the calculations.

a8e951e6f5 [Feat] 310p supports PrefillCacheHit State (#6756)
### What this PR does / why we need it?
This PR extends the Ascend 310P attention backend to support the
`PrefillCacheHit` state. Previously, only `PrefillNoCache`,
`DecodeOnly`, and `ChunkedPrefill` were supported.
This PR handles this state by routing it to the existing
`forward_chunked_prefill_310` implementation, which is suitable for this
scenario.
The changes also include refactoring the main `forward_impl` dispatch
method for better clarity and updating unit tests to cover the new state
and ensure correctness.

#### The conversation is normal.
Okay, the user is asking, \"What is deep learning?\" I need to explain
this in a clear and concise way. Let me start by recalling what I know
about deep learning. It's a subset of machine learning, right? So first,
I should mention that it's part of machine learning, which itself is a
branch of AI. Then, the key aspect of deep learning is the use of neural
networks with multiple layers. These are called deep neural
networks.\n\nWait, I should define neural networks first. Maybe start
with the basics. A neural network is inspired by the human brain, with
layers of nodes (neurons) that process data. But deep learning
specifically refers to networks with many layers—hence \"deep.\" So the
term \"deep\" comes from the number of layers. \n\nI should explain how
deep learning works. It involves training these networks on large
datasets, allowing them to automatically learn features from the data.
Unlike traditional machine learning, where you might have to manually
extract features, deep learning models can do this automatically. That's
a key point. For example, in image recognition, a deep learning model
can learn to detect edges, shapes, and then more complex patterns
without human intervention.\n\nApplications are important too. The user
might want to know where deep learning is used. Common examples include
image and speech recognition, natural language processing, autonomous
vehicles, and recommendation systems. Maybe mention specific
technologies like self-driving cars using computer vision or virtual
assistants like Siri or Alexa

f40256b697 [Feat.][310P] addrmsnorm for 300I DUO (#6704)
### What this PR does / why we need it?
This PR integrates the `npu_add_rms_norm` fused kernel for RMSNorm
operations with residual connections on 310P devices. This change
optimizes the computation by replacing a two-step process (manual
residual addition followed by RMSNorm) with a single, more efficient
fused operation. This is needed to improve the performance of models
utilizing RMSNorm with residual connections on the 310P architecture.

### Does this PR introduce _any_ user-facing change?
No, this PR introduces an internal optimization and does not change any
user-facing APIs or behaviors.

f71812011d [Feature] DispatchGmmCombineDecode support bf16/float16 gmm1/gmm2 weight and support gmm weight with ND format (#6393)
### What this PR does / why we need it?
1. support ND format gmm weight input.
Before this pr, gmm1_weight and gmm2_weight could only be passed as
input to the DispatchGmmCombineDecode operator in NZ data format. After
the modification, they are allowed to be passed in ND data format.
2. support bf16/float16 gmm weight
The current PR modification enables the DispatchGmmCombineDecode
operator to support non-W8A8 scenarios, allowing gmm1_weight and
gmm2_weight to be passed as float16/bfloat16 which is correspond with
input token data type.

a0315f6697 [npugraph_ex]enable npugraph_ex by default (#6664)
### What this PR does / why we need it?

This pull request enables the `npugraph_ex` backend by default to
improve performance on Ascend NPUs, as proposed in the
[RFC](https://github.com/vllm-project/vllm-ascend/issues/6214).

### Does this PR introduce _any_ user-facing change?

Yes. `npugraph_ex` is now enabled by default. Users can disable it by
setting `enable: false` in the `npugraph_ex_config` section of the
`additional_config`.

### How was this patch tested?

CI passed. The changes are covered by existing and new E2E tests
(`test_aclgraph_accuracy.py`) and unit tests (`test_ascend_config.py`)
that have been updated to reflect the new default behavior. The tests
verify correctness and consistency with `npugraph_ex` enabled and
disabled, as well as with the new static kernel option.

c0c2eb614e [Main][Ops] Make triton rope support index_selecting from cos_sin_cache (#5450)
### What this PR does / why we need it?

This PR extends original `rope_triton_forward` and
`split_qkv_rmsnorm_rope` to support `cos_sin_cache` && `positions` as
inputs. This fully aligns to vLLM RoPE api interface. Compared with
earlier implementation for RoPE, the benefits are:

1. avoiding pre-computation of `cos` `sin` before model execution, which
helps to remove redundant codes.
2. allowing eagle3 draft model to have different rope parameters with
main model (see #6612 ). This help to recover accept rate && accuracy in
that case.

In addition, this kernel change only introduces very small performance
degradation. Those `index_select` or `chunk` operations are now changed
into simple memory access in triton kernel (For example,
https://github.com/vllm-project/vllm-ascend/pull/5450/changes#diff-a4c2d3071530df193b98f9bf38553874bc4d47571336711f116c26d019cfbb6aR77-R81).

**Highlights**

- **RoPE Cache Unification**: Replaced separate _sin and _cos global
tensors with a unified cos_sin_cache and explicit positions tensor for
Rotary Positional Embeddings (RoPE), streamlining data handling.
- **Triton Kernel Integration**: Updated Triton kernels
(split_qkv_rmsnorm_rope_kernel, _triton_rope) to directly consume the
cos_sin_cache and positions for more efficient and integrated RoPE
calculations.
- **Custom Operation Registration**: Registered `rope_forward_oot` as a
new custom operation, allowing its use in fused compilation passes and
providing a dedicated entry point for the new RoPE implementation.
- **Refactored RoPE Forward Pass**: Modified the rope_forward_oot
function to accept the new cos_sin_cache and positions arguments,
enabling a more flexible and integrated RoPE application within the
system.

bb73478c00 [Test][BugFix] Fix torch.rand usage in triton penalty test (#6680)
### What this PR does / why we need it?
This PR fixes a `TypeError` in
`tests/e2e/nightly/single_node/ops/singlecard_ops/triton/test_penality.py`
that was causing nightly test failures. The `torch.rand()` function was
being called with the `device` string as a positional argument, which is
incorrect. This has been corrected to use the `device` keyword argument.

02886e2641 [Feat] 310p support MoE W8A8 quantizaition (#6641)
### What this PR does / why we need it?
This PR introduces support for W8A8 dynamic quantization for
Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) models on Ascend 310P devices. This is achieved
by:
- Implementing a new quantization scheme
`AscendW8A8DynamicFusedMoEMethod310`.
- Adding a unified MLP implementation (`unified_apply_mlp`) for 310P
that handles both quantized and unquantized paths.
- Refactoring the MoE and quantization configuration logic to correctly
route to the new 310P-specific implementations.
- Adding new e2e and unit tests to verify the functionality of MoE W8A8
quantization.

### Does this PR introduce _any_ user-facing change?
No

### How was this patch tested?
- Added a new e2e test `test_qwen3_moe_tp2_w8a8` to test MoE W8A8
quantization in a multi-card setup.
- Added several new unit tests for the 310P-specific MoE components,
including `experts_selector`, `fused_moe`, `moe_comm_method`, `moe_mlp`,
and the new `w8a8_dynamic` quantization method.
